My Licit Affairs
My MoJo

Inspired by Mollena Williams’ Flying Solo class at the Center for Sex-Positive Culture this weekend, several of us banded together to flush out ideas for a game that would reward singles for doing socially brave things.

This is just my own bit of brainstorming, but here’s the idea.

Going to events alone is tough, even for the extroverted among us. We won’t always get talked to, and we will often get turned down or blown off for scenes. Or we might just be too chicken to ask for scenes. Or even talk to that cute guy/girl/trans person over there. So the idea is to acknowledge that little steps mean a lot and that social bravery should be rewarded. As Mollena put it in her workshop, “I showed up to an event alone. Fifty points for me!!”

So here we go, Mo. Here’s My MoJo points suggestions, for EACH INSTANCE:

  • 50 points—showing up to an event alone
  • 20 points—talking to someone you don’t know
  • 20 points—wearing something sexy
  • 10 points—coming back out after hiding in the bathroom to collect yourself
  • 100 points—asking for a scene
  • 500 points—asking for a scene AFTER someone else blew you off or rejected you
  • 50 points—introducing someone to someone else
  • 100 points—telling someone you think is cute that you think he/she is cute
  • 10 points—complimenting a presenter
  • 20 points—asking someone to coffee
  • 50 points—asking someone to go to a session/class with you
  • 100 points—asking someone to go to a session/class with you AFTER someone else said no
  • 10 points—posting positive Tweets about the event (as permitted)
  • 20 points—asking a question on the event mailing list before the event
  • 10 points—looking up attendees on FetLife and friending them
  • 20 points—thanking someone for coffee/scene/conversation
  • 20 points—asking a question during a session/class
  • 10 points—complimenting someone’s tattoo
  • 10 points—complimenting someone’s shoes/boobs/eyes/ass
  • 20 points—complimenting someone’s scene
  • 50 points—complimenting the scene of someone you’d like to scene with

This is just a start—we need more ideas!
